We can’t deny it, the cooler weather is officially here, but it’s not all gloom and doom because winter means a fresh wardrobe! It’s time to get into those lit knits, girl. Picture this: icy weather, heater blasting, puppy in lap, Netflix on, and a cute but seriously comfy combo of knits and leggings *heaven. Anyway, enough dreaming about lazy days, let’s talk fashion. One of our fave things about knits is the freedom you have to create a point of difference with a range of colours, styles and textures.
Here are our 4 tips for styling knits!
SKIRTS
Skirts are not just a summer wardrobe essential. We love a good transition piece that can be worn all year around. Our two must-have skirts are a cord and denim minis. These look great paired with chunky knits like chenille or high-neck cable knit styles. This play on textures is a look we’re obsessed with because it gives you a point of difference which is v on- trend. A rigid denim skirt with a knit is a cute and classic everyday outfit. For dressier occasions, try a faux leather skirt with a light-weight knit, tights, heeled boots, gold statement accessories and a bolder beauty look—hello BNO glam!
Denim is literally the queen of complimenting knitwear. It’s easy to fall into an all-black styling hole in winter, that’s why we’re highlighting colour this season. Classic blue jeans look so fresh with the bold knitwear colour palette we’re seeing come through. We love these pops of greens, bold pinks and patterns to help make those dull winter days a little brighter. The denim will make styling those statement knits like leopard print easy af, you could even add a pink high neck basic under your knit for a subtle pop of colour and extra warmth.
Elevate your knitwear with statement accessories! Whether it be a belt bag, bold silver and gold jewellery or a cute beanie and scarf combo—accessories are the easiest way to update your knitwear this season. Our favourite pieces right now are statement earrings paired with a high neck knit, high pony tail and a contrasting scrunchie.
The style we’re most excited for this season…the knitted dress! These all-in-one outfit is convenient but also give you so many different options. An oversized knit dress is versatile and can easily be dressed up or down by switching up your styling. For an everyday look, pair with a chunky sneaker and cute belt. If you’re heading out to a fancier dinner (and want to indulge without having to unbutton your pants *not even sorry about it* wear your knit dress with bold accessories like a gold or glittery hoop and a heeled boot. For the colder days add some tights and a statement jacket, like a leopard print faux fur, and you’ll be super cosy and look effortlessly cute!
